What Our Customers Say
Found This Locally
Usually only buy matcha when I’m in Japan, but I found this at a local event and was surprised how smooth it was. Glad I don't have to wait for another trip!

Didn’t Think Matcha Was for Me
I've tried matcha a few times before and honestly never really liked it. Tried a sample of this and it was actually so nice to drink.

ENJOYED IT A LOT
Had this after a pilates class, love how it wasn't too bitter or grassy. Great for anyone like me who doesn’t usually drink tea.

FAQs
Matcha is a type of green tea made by finely grinding shade-grown leaves called tencha. Unlike regular tea, you don’t steep the leaves — you whisk the powder straight into water, so you’re drinking the whole leaf!
Matcha has a naturally sweet, earthy, and umami flavor; think grassy meets creamy with a touch of nuttiness. Depending on how it’s been grown and harvested, it can lean more bright and floral or deeper and toasty.
Yes! Matcha contains caffeine—about half the amount found in coffee—but it also has L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes calm, focused energy.
Store it in an airtight container away from light, heat, and humidity. Once opened, try to use it within 1–2 months for peak flavor and color. You can also store it in the fridge to slow down oxidation.
We suggest grain-fed 2% milk or barista edition oat milk — they tend to give the ideal creaminess without overpowering the matcha. That said, personal preference always wins, so feel free to experiment!
We recommend a bamboo whisk to bring out matcha's natural sweetness and umami. If using a handheld milk frother as an alternative, make sure to add the liquid before the matcha powder for the best blend.
Ceremonial grade matcha is generally higher quality — it’s fresher, smoother, less bitter, and often has sweeter, more delicate notes. However, quality can vary within this grade, and what tastes “better" also depends on how you prepare your matcha.
Absolutely! You can drink matcha every day. It’s full of antioxidants and gentle caffeine. But like other teas, it can affect how your body absorbs iron, so if that’s a concern, enjoy your matcha between meals.

Our Story
Hi, we're Mary and Wesley. Between trendy cafes, specialty teahouses, and countless tins at home, we kept noticing how much of the market leans on buzzwords over what's actually in the cup. So we started Greenbird to do it differently — sourcing for taste, and sharing something we genuinely enjoy ourselves.
